October in Review

After a record September, it was hard to imagine things getting any busier. But as we shared in a recent social video, 15 years of NCPro Visuals data showed that October consistently outpaces September.

And this year, history repeated itself.

October finished as our third biggest month in 15 years, with our team delivering over 6,500 assets for more than 260 properties. Thank you to all the agents and agencies who trusted us with their marketing throughout the month.

A month like that involves plenty of work you see: photographers arriving at properties, homes being captured and finished marketing arriving in your inbox. It also takes a lot of coordination behind the scenes.

Office Manager Nick works hard during the week keeping track of bookings, checking progress and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. With photography, floor plans, video and editing moving through different stages, there’s a lot to keep an eye on.

To support that work, we’ve been developing our own admin portal and job tracking system, tailored to how NCPro Visuals operates. It gives us a clearer picture of what’s booked, what’s in progress and what needs to be delivered, helping us keep every project moving.

It’s a little look behind the scenes at how we keep everything moving. These systems help our team stay on top of each job as the business keeps growing, so you can plan your campaign knowing your marketing will arrive when expected.

Having the right people in place matters just as much. Staffing a seasonal business is always a balancing act, and we feel we’ve got that balance right this year. Our aim remains to fit new bookings in within a few days, and certainly within a week, even through the Spring rush. This can get challenging, particularly with dusk shoots that have limited availability each week, so a little extra notice always helps - but we’ll always do what we can to fit you in when needed.

It’s also pleasing to see properties continuing to come to market across the areas we cover. We know agents and vendors are navigating a more challenging market, and we remain focused on presenting every home in its best possible light and playing our part in achieving a great result for everyone involved.

Thanks again for your support through a huge October. We’re ready to keep things moving as we head towards Christmas.

November is also a busy month as vendors look to launch and hopefully sell before the end of the year. It’s also a great opportunity to prepare marketing for a New Year launch - capturing properties before Summer arrives, while the grass is still green, and having everything ready to go when the time is right.

Meet the Team: Karen
Role: Photographer/Floor Planner
Time at NCPro Visuals: 3 months

What’s your favourite way to start the day?

Coffee! I really need to get a fix of caffeine from the get go -  but  I also like to get up really early at 5am to get some quiet time in before anyone else is up. In a house of three teenage boys, this quiet morning time is good for sanity.

What’s a movie or show you never get tired of rewatching?

It’s a bit corny but I love the movie Grease, it’s always been one of those movies that if it is on anywhere I like to watch a little bit of it and remember when I used to watch it lots. The music and fun of this movie has always stuck with me as a favourite.

What’s the most used app on your phone?

These days it is Google Maps as being a recent arrival in Bendigo, I often have no idea where I am going to photograph houses so it has been a lifeline and I haven’t got too lost yet.

What’s your guilty pleasure song that you secretly love?

I love all songs by Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20 and will openly admit to listening to my big collection of songs from Rob and the band quite regularly. I have even managed to get two of my son’s to also be a fan and we have gone to a few concerts together to see them now.

What's something on your bucket list?

I have always wanted to travel to New York, especially at Christmas when it snows. I am hoping that this bucket list item will become a reality in the not too distant future.

Do you have a favourite holiday or tradition?

When our boys were younger we used to love travelling down the coast to Bermagui -  staying in a bushy holiday home. It was a 10 hour drive but they were the best holidays and we always have fond memories of staying in the bush cabin and wandering down to the oyster farm nearby as kangaroos jumped around nearby. A really picture perfect holiday spot.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be?

Rafa Nadal because I love tennis and he has always been one of my favourite players and I think he would have some really interesting stories to tell.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t worry about making mistakes, just keep trying your best and keep going.

What’s the weirdest or most interesting job you’ve ever had?

The most interesting job was as a newspaper court reporter in Australia and New Zealand where your presence alone can cause you to become public enemy number one - you might get called names, be intimidated or told to leave but getting to see the story behind the crime has always been intriguing to me.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home from work?

Normally I jump on my computer in my home office and download photos but I also have to deal with the demands of our energetic Border Collie Blazer and Ragdoll cat Smokey or jump right back in the car and drive my children around to their various activities after school.

What was your dream job as a kid?

I always wanted to be a journalist and as a kid would often pull out our typewriter and start typing up news stories about events that were happening at the time. Luckily I managed to become a newspaper journalist in real life and it was a pretty exciting and challenging career in its day, but also helped lead me into my love of photography.

What’s your unpopular opinion that you're willing to defend?

That gaming is not a good thing for young people’s minds - I have often been met with strange looks when I mention this to any teenagers.

What’s a trend or fashion you fully embraced... and now regret?

I used to love getting around in denim jackets so enjoy seeing the resurgence of this style of fashion again. I could say I used to look back and think what was I doing, but now that these things are cool again, I have no regrets.

What’s one song that instantly puts you in a good mood?

Anything from John Farnham, his songs are just so iconic that they always make me feel happy to listen to them when they pop up on the radio.

What’s your favourite childhood cartoon or show?

The Flintstones - I loved the simple nature of this cartoon show and still have a DVD of the series just in case I feel like watching it again.

Which three items would you bring to a desert island?

Chocolate, coffee supplies and some house design magazines.

What’s something silly that never fails to make you laugh?

When my husband gets the hiccups which is quite regularly - I just can’t stop laughing at him.

AI Property Editing: Take a Second Look

AI is opening up more possibilities for property marketing. From virtual furniture to replacing a grey sky or creating a dusk look from a daytime photograph, tools that once required specialist editing skills are now available to almost anyone.

These tools can produce impressive results. But as they become easier to use, it’s worth taking a closer look at exactly what they’ve changed.

More than adding furniture

We’re seeing more agencies experimenting themselves with AI virtual staging to help buyers picture how an empty room could look furnished.

The results can be impressive, but it’s worth checking that the tool has only added the furniture you intended. Depending on how the image is processed, it may also alter windows, doorways, flooring or other features of the room.

Furniture size and placement deserve a closer look too. A beautifully staged image should still give buyers an accurate sense of the room’s space and proportions.

These changes can be subtle. When your attention is on the styling, it’s easy to overlook a detail in the background. Comparing the finished image with the original helps confirm that the property itself hasn’t changed.

The same care applies to sky replacements and day-to-dusk edits: check that changes to the atmosphere haven’t also changed features of the home or its surroundings.

Editing isn’t new, but the process is changing

Property photographs have been edited for decades. Virtual staging, sky replacements and day to dusk conversions all existed well before the current wave of AI tools.

What’s changing is how those edits are made, how accessible they’ve become and how much control we have over the result.

With some AI tools, asking for one change can produce others you didn’t request. A realistic looking result doesn’t necessarily mean every detail is accurate.

That’s why comparing the finished image with the original is such an important step.

The responsibility stays the same

Whatever tool is used, property marketing still needs to represent the home accurately. Existing obligations around misleading advertising apply regardless of how an image was created or edited.

A useful final check is to look beyond the intended change. Are the windows and doors the same? Have the building’s shape, materials or surroundings changed? Does the room still have the same proportions?

For virtual staging, identifying that furniture has been digitally added helps buyers understand what they’re seeing. It’s also important to check that the underlying property remains accurately represented.

A place for technology and a trained eye

At NCPro Visuals, we see value in tools that help present a property well. Alongside that, we bring our experience of photographing homes and reviewing the details that matter.

If you’re experimenting with these tools yourself, taking a moment to compare the result against the original can make all the difference. And if you’re unsure about an edit, we’re always happy to help.

Sometimes the most important part of an impressive transformation is checking what stayed the same.
