September in Review

Spring arrived with our biggest September on record, led by Bendigo and Central Victoria. We also saw some encouraging signs of improvement in listing numbers on the Gold Coast.

There was plenty of variety throughout the month, with residential homes, commercial properties, rural land and rentals all keeping the team busy. We also completed a large number of dusk shoots, making the extra hands particularly welcome. After spending Winter training with Operations Manager Amy - Erin and Karen were straight into the Spring workload and have been doing some fantastic work.

In the final weeks of September, we welcomed Paul, our new in-house video editor, who has been kept busy from the start. His arrival gives us more flexibility in what we can offer clients and helps improve video turnaround times. Being Gold Coast based he also got away from the computer recently to shoot some behind the scenes content with Nathan. You can get to know him in the staff profile below!

Thank you to our clients for your continued support. Whether you’ve worked with us for years or booked your first shoot this Spring, we appreciate the opportunity to be part of your campaign.

Take a look below at some of our recent work, including a spectacular Property of the Month. We also explore the different types of property video and agent content available in our feature article - and why not every property video needs to be a movie.

Not every property video needs to be a movie

Sometimes a property calls for a cinematic presentation. Sometimes you want a quick introduction for social media, a view of the land from above or a simple walkthrough that helps buyers understand the layout.

Each has a purpose. The best place to start is with what you want to show, where the video will be used and whether you want to be part of it.

Here’s a guide to the property videos and agent content we can help you create.

Cinematic Property Video

A cinematic video brings together carefully captured footage, music and editing to show a home’s features and convey its feel. It gives buyers a sense of the spaces, the details and the lifestyle on offer.

This is the option for a more complete visual presentation of a property, giving the home room to tell its story.

Cinematic Video - Social Edit

If you’re already having a cinematic video produced, a social edit is an add-on that gives that footage another use.

It’s a shorter, vertical version made for social channels, bringing selected highlights into a format suited to viewing on a phone. The focus stays on the property, with an edit shaped for a quick introduction.

Agent/Social Property Video

An agent/social video makes you part of the property presentation.

You might speak to camera, introduce the home and point out a few favourite features. Or, if talking to camera isn’t your thing, you can simply appear walking through and interacting with the property while the footage and music do the rest.

The defining feature is your presence. It introduces the listing while also putting a face to the agent behind it, in a vertical format made for social media.

Drone Flyover Video

For some properties, the setting is a big part of the story.

Typically around 60 seconds long and set to music, a drone flyover video is made entirely from aerial footage of the property. It helps show the land, the home’s position and its relationship to the surrounding area.

It can be particularly useful when scale, location or outdoor features are difficult to appreciate from ground level.

Walkthrough Video

A walkthrough takes viewers on one continuous journey through the house, speeding up the movement between rooms and slowing down to show the spaces, with music added.

It offers a straightforward way to help buyers understand how the rooms connect and get a sense of the layout.

Beyond the listing: content for your business

Video can also help people get to know you before they have a property to sell. Alongside listing videos, we create content that introduces agents, shares client experiences and gives you material to use across your own channels.

B-Roll and Social Content

B-roll is footage of you at work: walking through a property, preparing for an inspection or going about the everyday activities behind your business.

That footage can form the basis of a short promotional clip or support future social posts with text, music or voiceover. It’s a useful option if you want to appear in your content without having to speak to camera throughout a shoot.

A recent promotional social clip we created for Stewart Estate Agents shows what can be made from a b-roll shoot - a collection of simple moments brought together into a finished piece that promotes the business.

Testimonial Video

A testimonial gives your clients the opportunity to describe their experience in their own words. It puts a person and a story behind the feedback, helping prospective clients understand what working with you can be like.

Agent Profile Video

An agent profile introduces who you are, how you work and what matters to you when helping clients. It gives people a chance to get to know the person behind the name and can have a life well beyond any single property campaign.

Start with the purpose

You don’t need every type of video for every listing. A cinematic film might be the right choice for one property, while an agent led social clip or drone flyover might suit another.

With Paul joining us as our in-house video editor, we have more flexibility to shape content around what you need and improve turnaround times along the way.

If you have a listing coming up - or want to build a bank of content for your business - have a chat with us about what you’d like to achieve. We’ll help you choose a format that fits.
